55 players on the shortlist FIFPRO’s World 11 was announced yesterday.
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has been a part of it despite a tough season this season.
He was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Real Antwerp last night, which put them at the top of the Europa League group stage.
His current predicament means there will be plenty of people lining up to laugh at him being on the list – which we won’t do.

Yes, someone like Raheem Sterling might find it hard not to be included. But it’s not Alli’s fault, so we won’t put him on the list for that.
Instead, we have some Tottenham fans who support Alli because he is on the list.
Their claims centred on his performance last season and the qualities Alli showed in previous campaigns.
according to transfer marketAli scored 9 goals and 4 assists in the 2019/20 season.
It’s not terrible – or worthy of ridicule – but it won’t earn a place in World XI either.
Here’s some Spurs fans exaggerating one of their players rather than engaging in a mockery of Alli’s addition…
His numbers last season were excellent, nowhere near as good as this season, but not sure it’s his fault
