Report: Arteta convinced Bellerin to stay at Arsenal for another season last summer

There is a consensus between Arsenal and Hector Bellerin that this summer is the perfect time for them to sever ties. ESPN.
They report that Arteta persuaded the defender last summer to give him another season.
Paris Saint-Germain and former club Barcelona were big options at the time – but it remains to be seen whether they will be interested this time around.

Paris Saint-Germain, now managed by former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, could of course opt to buy right-back Alessandro Florenzi in the summer, the report said.
That could reduce their interest in Bellerin, while Barcelona’s finances are also an issue.
They may consider free transfers and cheaper signings in the summer.
With two years left on Bellerin’s contract, Arsenal are unlikely to let him go at a low price.

So while Bellerin may be ready for a fresh start, there are no obvious suitors.
But his contract situation is interesting for Arsenal as every passing window reduces his transfer value.
